Phillies Even Series with Braves, Force Game 3

Harper's Home Run Lifts Phillies to 3-2 Win

The Philadelphia Phillies evened the series with the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series with a 3-2 win in Game 2 on Wednesday night at Truist Park.

Bryce Harper hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give the Phillies the lead, and the bullpen held on for the win.

The Braves had taken a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on a single by Dansby Swanson, but the Phillies answered back in the top of the ninth.

The series is now tied 1-1 and will move to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Friday night.

Phillies Take Early Lead

The Phillies took an early lead in the game, scoring a run in the top of the first inning on a single by Brandon Marsh.

The Braves tied the game in the bottom of the second inning on a home run by Austin Riley, but the Phillies regained the lead in the top of the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Nick Castellanos.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Braves took the lead on Swanson's single.

Harper's Home Run Wins It

The Phillies answered back in the top of the ninth inning when Harper hit a solo home run off Braves closer Kenley Jansen.

The Phillies bullpen then held on for the win, with Brad Hand striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth inning.

With the win, the Phillies evened the series and will have a chance to take a 2-1 lead when the series moves to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Friday night.
